Friendly Winter Request: Let’s Help Our Plow Drivers!
Hi neighbors!
We know our Highway Department is working hard out there keeping our roads safe with all this snow! To help them do their crucial work smoothly—and to protect your property—we have a quick and friendly request about where we place our trash and recycling bins.
Protect Your Bins & Our Plows
Plows have to push back a lot of snow, and anything left too close to the road runs a high risk of being knocked over and destroyed. We’ve unfortunately seen some bins already get damaged!
Our town’s official right-of-way on Class 3 roads extends 25 feet from the center of the road.
To be safe and ensure your bins survive the winter, please make sure they are placed entirely outside of that 25-foot zone. Setting them back a few extra feet onto your driveway or lawn makes a huge difference!
A little effort from everyone helps protect our town’s expensive equipment and keeps our roads clear for the whole community.
Thanks so much for being a great neighbor and helping us have a safer, smoother winter season!
